Spanish

Learning a modern foreign language is important at Cashes Green because it widens the children’s cultural appreciation of the world and helps them understand the similarities and differences within their mother tongue. Children will develop their linguistic skills, promoting confidence and increasing their ability to communicate. Through developing their language learning skills, Spanish will draw in elements of other curriculum areas and foster an appreciation of the world around them and a life-long passion for languages.

We have chosen Spanish because it is a prominent world language which is spoken globally. It is a useful basis for understanding and manipulating grammar and is straightforward with its phonetic approach. These foundations will enable children to thrive when learning languages in secondary school.
